Makes 'Em Wanna Scream
Looking over a diverse all ages crowd it's hard not to feel a special vibe only music can bring. DJ L'Oqenz is spinning classics like "Flashlight" and "Atomic Dog" for the evening as the young and old dance alike. As time passes the crowd grows in number. Then the emcee of the evening, Wan-Luv, finally brings the much anticipated Saidah Baba Talibah to the stage.
"Innovative, sexy and extremely honest," are the words a fan uses to describe Toronto-native Saidah Baba Talibah. Although accompanied by an eight-piece band, Saidah begins to sing without the help of her fellow musicians, acappella. With a sultry voice Saidah captures the entire crowd in an instant. After greeting the crowd in song, the show starts with a bang.
An array of sounds from her upcoming album, Make Me Wanna (S)Cream, begin to fill the venue. Songs like "He Don't Love Me Anymore" and "High" had the crowd dancing and singing along. With such an emotional sound of soul filling the arena with an amazing energy, you can't help being in a state of what can best be described as euphoric happiness.
Her title track, "Make Me Wanna (S)Cream", had the entire crowd fully enraptured by the amazing sound of the songstress and instruments, taking everyone for an amazing ride.
The fans though weren't the only ones captivated by the experience. It couldn't be more apparent that Saida Baba Talibah was revelling in the loyal environment. "[I feel] loved and loved and loved," Saidah said about the night. "Just seeing people respond to songs and unfamiliar faces smiling and knowing songs I'm like, 'Whoa.'"
